All handrails and railing are custom built; each are designed for the homeowner’s style and home architecture. Your railing will look like it always belonged there, it will never look like it came off a factory line.

Handrails are free standing or attached to a wall with brackets. They help people getting up and down steps. Sometimes one step makes a difference in being safe. We’ve built small ones for entry ways, guest areas, and backyard steps. We’ve built large ones for restaurants, offices and pool areas.

Railing is different from fencing in that railing is also known as a guard rail, so you’ll see them along balconies, terraces, or stairs to keep people from falling off a ledge.

Railing has many parts to it, each has fun architecture history. In referencing the dictionary, the top part of a rail where people hold on is called the balustrade; the decorative short pillars underneath, those are balusters or banisters (unlike spindles which are turned pieces of wood).
